Here’s the smut of how the Sledgehammers came to be and how they stay unrelentless and uncompromizing as they are!

SLEDGEHAMMER NOSEJOB was formed in Hoogeveen/Netherlands by Carl Assault and Fredde Kaddeth. Both are also know for their heavy duties in MASSIVE ASSAULT.

Caught somewhere in time
Somewhere in 2011 Fredde Kaddeth and Carl Assault started to talk about doing something different next to MASSIVE ASSAULT.
Not long after this they went looking for a drummer to jam and see what they could come up with. They found Michel Manning who was eager to play his drums again, after doing bass-duties in the band OBTUSE. And so from May 2011 untill June 2012 they were jamming and recording all their ideas.

At first they jammed a mixture between speedrock, punk and grind, but soon added their appreciation of crust into their mix. Just before they planned to record the first demo, Michel decided to leave this powertrio and so the Sledgehammers became the dynamic duo which they are still today.

Under the sign of the Hammer
In october 2012, after a short break, Fredde and Carl picked up where they left of. They decided to continue as a studio-only project and verociously churned out one idea after the other and added death metal to their lethal dose of noise. The first hardhitting punch in the face was the song „Evil Lurks“, which saw the unlight of night on the 10th of April 2013. After this they regularly inflicted pain after pain unto the web with songs like „Hell-Age“ and „Crematorium“.

The collaboration in facial mutilation
Halfway through 2013 talks began about bludgeoning their songs onstage aswell. And so live-musicians were being hunted down and the first to be added to the line-up was Marco Prij, then drummer of Overruled and now of DISTILLATOR. He was also the perfect choice, because he already was the sessiondrummer on the studiorecordings. Casper le Gras soon came in to handle the bass-duties and on the 19th of April 2014 the first live Sledgehammering was a fact! Their second gig was at the infamous Protzen Open Air and more shows followed in both Germany and the Netherlands. Gideon, of MASSIVE ASSAULT, also stepped in from time to time to pound on the drums when Marco couldn’t.

Stop! Hammertime!
The demand for having something in your greasy hands grew more and more and so the decision to find a like-minded label was the next logical step and was of course found in Defying Danger Records.

The first official sledgehammering album will spewed upon you very soon. In the meantime (and after it’s release) expect to be pounded live aswell.

So…If you’re interested in extreme face corrections you should call SLEDGEHAMMER NOSEJOB! They’re good at it!
Expect to be sledgehammered by a lethal mixture of Death Metal, Crust, Rock ’n‘ Roll, Thrash & Punk!

CD Version comes out on 16th january & vinyl-edition will be released at the dark Walpurgis-Night from 30th april 2017!

Press-Reviews:

Album of the Month at Metal Warehouse

7,5/10 Punkte Max / ZEPHYRS ODEM

Kai Ellermann / XXL ROCK

Leo / FATAL UNDERGROUND

The band shows us that with just good songs you can make a great album without having to reinvent the wheel as it were. The two core members Carl Assault and Fredde Kaddeth have achieved a direct hit with this album that will definitely work well in the club circuit in the Netherlands and beyond. The music is designed to entertain (read: headbanging) and that starts with the beautiful cover of the album and the great album title
80/100 Score Berto Huizinga / LORDS OF METAL

Stop!
Katja / KRACHMANIFEST

After listening to this album one thing is for sure: this is something really different then I expected.Death metal, crust punk, hardcore and rock ’n roll are used to make from every song a unique song.
8,2/10 Score Anton Riemersma / PITKINGS

SLEDGEHAMMER NOSEJOB put out a debut that packs a punch, kicks some ass and causes a good time.
Thomas Meyer / VOICES FROM THE DARK SIDE

9/15 Skulls Tobias Trillmich / TWILIGHT MAGAZINE

Michael Eden / POSSESSED MAGAZINE

With their mix of deep death metal, heavy death’n’roll and hardcore-phrased growling […] they really raise hell on their new album.
