Hailing from East Westphalia, Germany, EVOKED first reared their ugly heads in 2013 from a spread of rank riffs songwriter Bonesaw had been carrying around for some time to follow traditional paths in two respects – making their name known with a modest yet lauded demo “Return of the Dead” which, quite fittingly, spread undiluted death the old (and only) way.

Without missing a beat, the still shifting but thanks to the front man’s uncompromising lead and vision dedicated line-up churned out two additional short formats. The 4-way split with TURBOCHARGED, VIOLENTOR, OBSCYRIA and the EP „Lifeless Allurement“. That proved EVOKED’s superiority over oh-so-many parvenus who make do with emulating their heroes instead of writing substantial songs.

Now after three years of careful writing and with multiple gigs alongside underground heavy-weights such as ROOT or SULPHUR AEON under their collective belt, the trio is set to leave its first longplay mark although “Ravenous Compulsion”.

“Ravenous Compulsion“ and has 8 nasty, rambling Death Metal tracks included. A fantastic album that oscillates between Swedish sounding guitar riffs and enraptured, horrendous Doom/Death Metal like prefers from the good old AUTOPSY, but always played in a very own EVOKED style.

“Ravenous Compulsion“ takes little more than half an hour to teach the crowd this classic old school Death Metal lesson. Crowned by a matching, gloriously bloody artwork by Timon Kokott, which accomplish the complete work.

All of this was reason enough for us this amazing tracks, which one would most like to hear in an infinite loop, to cast into an appropriate format and as D.D.R. #031 to release on vinyl.
