Northern German powerhouse SLAUGHTERDAY are around since 2010 and have managed to gain a lot of attention with their previous releases.
SLAUGHTERDAY was formed by Jens Finger – Guitars/Bass (ex-OBSCENITY and Bernd Reiners – Drums/Vocals (ex- BK 49) to play raw and sick old-school Death Metal, heavily influenced by bands like AUTOPSY, ASPHYX, ENTOMBED or MASSACRE.
In December 2012 the duo has recorded a 4-Track Demo called „Cosmic Horror“ at Soundlodge Studios, thereby they can signed a deal by the German label F.D.A. Rekotz.
SLAUGHTERDAY celebrate old school death metal as fuck, while adding some unique and irrestistible vibes to it, on all their recrodings.
The debut „Nightmare Vortex“ then saw the light shortly afterwards in 2013. With 10 tracks featuring a slightly more morbid overall sound than previously, SLAUGHTERDAY reek of the grave and these songs once again show that the band continue to unleash high-value Death Metal on the world with every release.
Their 2nd studio album „Laws Of The Occult“ was released also via FDA Rekotz, who released all SLAUGHTERDAY outputs so far.
In 2018 one of the most morbid and bloodiest death metal bands from Germany crawled again out of his tomb and after 1.5 years of abstinence to strikes back with a almost half-hour mini album.
The title of this great work was „Abattoir“, which show a clear development of the band, without losing their style and their own character.
On this „Abattoir“ EP the band surprised with creepy Doom Death, gloomy melodies and sudden outbreaks of speed and sheer brutality.
On the next full lenght album “Ancient Death Triumph” in 2020 evolves their distinctive trademarks to their unique blend of ruthless Old Death Metal featuring songs on the same high and authentic level as the classics of the early days of Death Metal like “Mental Funeral”, “From Beyond” and “Leprosy”.
Now in 2022, after 2 years of pandemic, the two northern lights strike back again as the „Tyrants of Doom“. The name says it all and so the 9 tracks sound like bloody, creeping, aggressive & murderously tight.
As usual, there is also a song on the new album that is not from the band’s own pen. The previous cover versions of bands like TROUBLE, ARCHERON, ANVIL or AMORPHIS are now joined by „Predator“ by CARNIVORE. This colourful bouquet of distorted guitar shows how broadly SLAUGHTERDAY are positioned by now
